Shipped mantises ride a truck overnight in an insulated box. Yours rides a climate-controlled car for minutes. It arrives the way it left: calm, hydrated, hunting by dinner.
When forecasts hit 90°F or higher — most Vegas summer days — carrier shipments get re-routed to a staffed FedEx counter for pickup. Local handoffs have no weather holds or re-routing, ever. July works exactly like January.
Your pickup comes with the person who hatched your mantis. Setup questions, feeder advice, what "normal" looks like for your exact animal — ask in person, then keep asking in the Discord.

Where do we meet for pickup?
Our pickup point in Inspirada (south Henderson) — the exact address comes in your scheduling confirmation. Pickups take about five minutes.
How fast can I get my mantis?
Often same-day or next-day. The scheduler offers slots starting two hours after you book, seven days a week — no waiting for the next ship day.
Does summer heat delay local orders?
No. Weather routing only applies to carrier shipping — at 90°F or higher a shipped box goes to a FedEx counter instead of a porch. Local handoffs are minutes in a climate-controlled car, so 110°F July afternoons don’t stop anything.
What does delivery cost?
Pickup is free anywhere in the valley (about a 35-mile radius: Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Henderson, Boulder City). Hand delivery is $10, for addresses within 5 miles of our Inspirada pickup point in south Henderson.
Can I buy feeders locally too?
Yes — fruit fly cultures and supplies ride along with any local order, or grab them on their own. Locals never pay shipping on feeder restocks.
Can I visit the breeding facility?
Not currently — it’s a working bug room, not a storefront. But every pickup comes with the breeder attached: ask anything, get honest answers.
